Episode 037 - My two-step process for releasing other people's opinions

Why do we value other people’s opinions over our own?

That’s the question I’m answering on today’s episode of the podcast.

Because I’ve been there. Ohhh boy, have I been there.

And we’re not talking a long time ago either. This is something I’m still actively working on.

Because other people’s opinions can be quite seductive. They can draw us in and be so persuasive we believe that they’re the truth.

But they never will be simply because they aren’t OUR TRUTH.

And in these cases, the single best thing we can do for ourselves is to release what doesn’t belong to us to free up the space to go after what we really want.

I have spent so much time in my life deferring to others, giving my power and making other people my “guru’s” simply because they seemed to know better than I do. But they never did.

Because no matter what THEIR truth is, it will always be that: their truth. It will never be mine. Or yours. Because you’re the only one who has access to that information. You have a wellspring of truth and information within you if you are only willing to get quiet enough to hear it!
